Thank you for your thoughtful cape creation and donation, which will bring joy to a child in need. Faced with immense challenges, many children may lose sight of their imagination and inner strength. Our goal today is to help them reconnect with their unique power and reawaken the enchantment of childhood. By crafting these capes, we're giving children the opportunity to see themselves as the courageous superheroes they truly are.
The experience
As participants, you'll learn about the impactful work of Enchanted Makeovers, an organization that has positively changed the lives of over 5,000 women and children by transforming shelters into nurturing environments. Additionally, you will engage in a hands-on activity to create capes, which are designed to promote feelings of healing, self-worth, and hope in children, empowering them to view themselves as superheroes in their own stories.

Step 1: Check your inventory
Double-check your inventory against the materials listed below to make sure everything is ready to go. If anything’s missing, give the WeHero events team a shout—we’ve got you covered!

Step 2: Create a superhero theme
Use the colorful felt and gems provided to decorate and bring a young superhero to life! To spark your imagination, here are some ideas for what you can add and what different symbols can represent.
Some fun symbols to use are:
- Stars: Classic and bold, symbolizing power and achievement.
- Lightning bolts: Represent speed and energy.
- Hearts: Signifying kindness and courage.
- Crescents or moons: For a mysterious or nighttime-themed hero.
- Shields: Suggesting protection and strength.
- Wings: Adding a dynamic, soaring effect.
- Flames: Evoking power and determination.
- Masks or eyes: For a sense of secrecy or vigilance
Step 3: Create and attach your designs
Draw your desired shapes on the back of the felt, then carefully cut along the outlines and position the cut-outs on the cape and mask where you want them. Once you're happy with the placement, peel off the protective backing to make them stick!

Step 4: Letter writing
One of the most important touches to your gift. It’s time to inspire kids! Write a short, heartfelt message of encouragement or support on your card, such as "You are strong and loved!" Then, decorate the card with the markers provided to make it colorful and personal. Finally, sign your name or use a friendly sign-off like "Your friend" to add a personal touch and spread positivity.

Step 5: Re-box and apply the shipping label
Using the original box everything came in, add the completed kits and reseal. Attach the prepaid shipping label and schedule your USPS pickup. You can also drop your box off at your local post office. To schedule your pickup, simply use the following link and follow the steps: www.wehero.co/pick-up/
Note: If the system asks for weight, you can enter 6 pounds and the shipping provider will update the weight automatically.
Step 6: Photo time!
Take a photo of yourself with your completed kits and share the experience with your friends and family. This is an opportunity to spread awareness and share the act of kindness. Be sure to tag WeHero when you post on social media!
