Plant native plants and help save the bees.
Thank you so much for participating in Honey Harvest. Farmers that keep bees can harvest honey during the non-growing season to earn extra income, producing 60 pounds or more each year. Honeybees are essential to healthy crops, and their rapid decline threatens global food security. In honor of National Honeybee Day- Bluecorn, Heifer International and WeHero, have created a limited collab experience to raise awareness about the importance of bees, while actually supporting bees! This collective effort aims to grow thousands of native pollinating plants, donate hundreds of hives to developing communities and support millions of bees.
What’s all the buzz about? Raise awareness of the importance of bees and regenerative agriculture while actually doing it! This effort aims to care for thousands of pollinating plants, donate hundreds of hives to developing communities, and support millions of bees.
We work to keep things as simple as possible. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your event coordinator or reach out to “Kai” (WeHero Super Dog) in the lower-right corner of this page.
Each Bumble Bee Seed Pop includes a curated selection of perennial wildflower seeds, compost, clay, coconut husk. The wildflower seeds include: China Aster, Lanced-Leaved & Plains, Coreopsis, Purple Coneflower, Wild Bergamot, Black-Eyed Susan.
You will need the materials listed below for a successful planting party.
Step 1: Place the inner black basket into the round white flower pot
Step 2: Unwrap the dehydrated soil puck
Step 3: Place the soil disk in the planter
Step 4: Add enough warm (not hot) water to fully saturate the soil (about 4-6 ounces)
Step 5: After water absorbs, stir soil and allow to sit for about 10 minutes
Step 6: Fluff soil and prep for pollen pop planting
Step 7: Unwrap your pollen pop
Step 8: Bury 2/3rds of the pollen pop into the soil
Step 9: Do a little boogie! You just planted native plants to support your local bee population
Place your new plant in a warm, sunny window with a minimum temperature of 72 degrees and water daily until sprouts appear. Once sprouted, water twice a week.
Note: You can remove the popsicle stick once water has absorbed into clay pop and expanded away from the popsicle stick. Still feeling tough to pull out? Just chill and try again tomorrow!
Take a photo of yourself with your completed packs and share the experience with your friends and family. Use the opportunity to spread awareness and share this act of kindness. Be sure to tag #wehero when you post on social media!

We build our volunteer events to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Whether it is offsetting the carbon emissions of the shipping process, using recycled cardboard for the boxes, or relying on algae based dyes, we’ve made conscious steps to ensure we’re doing right for our world.
We have partnered with Cool Effect on The Mare Chicose landfill project in Mauritius to reduce methane emissions, generate electricity, create jobs, and promote sustainable development. Investing in the project helps reduce our carbon footprint and support global climate change mitigation.
